About Us

Meet Latona Whitaker

Founder of Get It Girl Fitness

I’m a retired police officer with a deep passion for fitness and community service. My journey began as a D1 track athlete and high school track coach, which fueled my lifelong commitment to empowering others through physical activity.

In 2018, I founded Get It Girl Fitness, a business dedicated to helping women of all ages and fitness levels stay active and healthy. I’m outgoing and energetic, always eager to connect with and uplift my community. I firmly believe that fitness is a lifelong journey, and I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way, no matter where you start.

Let’s work together to unlock your full potential and embrace a vibrant, active life!

Meet the Instructors

Our wonderful team is dedicated to creating supportive and loving environment where everyone can thrive. Together, we empower each other to reach our fitness goals and celebrate every achievement along the way.

Our Values

Community Service

At Get It Girl Fitness, community service is a core value. Each year, we participate in a Back-to-School Drive, Trunk or Treat for Halloween, and Adopt-a-Family for Christmas, helping to support and uplift those around us.

We’re also proud to partner with Contra Costa County Black Infant Health and the Contra Costa County Supervisors Office, providing free workouts to promote health and wellness in our community.

By staying connected and giving back, we’re dedicated to building a healthier, happier community.

Building a Sisterhood Beyond Boundaries

At Get It Girl Fitness, we believe in more than just physical health—we are a community, a sisterhood that uplifts and empowers each other. From shared adventures like international travel and camping retreats to celebrating milestones and offering support during life’s challenges, we are committed to being there for one another. Whether it's providing scholarships, welcoming new life with baby showers, or standing together in times of grief, our community is a sanctuary of love, resilience, and support. Together, we are creating memories, building strength, and nurturing connections that last a lifetime.

Seniors

Two years ago I was approached by the beautiful Gloria Orduna about starting a senior line dance class. This class has become the most popular class at Get It Girl Fitness. These ladies have gained so much confidence and mobility through dance. Seeing them go from day one until now is simply inspiring. They went from being isolated during the pandemic, to now attending public line dance events! We went from 1 class a week, to 3 classes a week, and it's simply amazing. To witness these ladies' dedication to their health has truly been an inspiration. Great job ladies!
